How do I measure myself to find out my size?

The best way to measure yourself is in your underwear or close fitting clothes. Stand tall in a relaxed position, wrap the tape around the area you'll be measuring, and take a few deep breathes. This ensures you're not sucking in and getting a wrong measurement. Make sure the tape measure is parallel to the ground so it's an accurate read. Place your finger over the number where the tape measure meets to mark it. Don't bend over and try to read the tape measure while it's wrapped around you as this will give you an inaccurate reading.

When you measure yourself, think about what you'll be wearing underneath your purchase. For example if you won't be wearing your push up bra with that low back dress you've got your eye on, then don't wear it whilst taking your measurements.

Keep in mind that not all clothes are intended to fit snug to your body. If you're buying a loose top then you'll want a bit of room to move. For example your bust measurement may be 90cm so you'll want the top to be around 93 - 95cm. Dressmakers call this measurement Ease. Looser styles will have around 3 - 5cm or more of ease. More fitted styles such as a waistband on a pair of shorts, will have around  0-2cm of ease. Keep this in mind when selecting your size.
